Laurie is committed to supporting and giving back to the community through volunteer work and board service. Her previous nonprofit board and officer roles include Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento, WEAVE, Sierra Adoption Services, and Sacramento Area Human Resources Association. She has valued her position as the Nonprofit Liaison for Impact100 Greater Sacramento, where she has deepened her understanding of local nonprofit organizations while promoting the chapter’s grants and resources to the nonprofit community. Laurie looks forward to continuing her efforts in the capacity of VP of Nonprofit and Grant Review.
Before retiring, Laurie accumulated over 40 years of experience as a Human Resources leader and executive for regional and national companies across various sectors, including retail, wholesale/distribution, and manufacturing. Her career includes notable roles at Weinstock’s, Slakey Brothers and Building Material Distributors.
Laurie has been married to her husband, Mike, for more than 45 years and has two daughters, who fortunately reside nearby. She enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, traveling, participating in book clubs, attending music and theater events, cooking, sewing, taking on house projects (the more hands-on the better!) and volunteering for organizations such as Women’s Empowerment and other nonprofits.
