Meet Janay Parkinson

Janay loves having fun and making people happy. Her passion for throwing amazing parties makes her the perfect choice for Impact100’s Special Events Co-chair.

Why did you join Impact100? To transform communities alongside exceptional women.

What is your favorite aspect about Impact100? The parties! My husband and I entertain multiple times a week, and I love planning every detail.

What is your favorite restaurant? Paragary’s. Both the Hand-Cut Rosemary Noodles and the fact I met this guy (my husband!) there 25 years ago!

What are your hobbies? Dinner parties are my passion, but I also enjoy decorating and pursuing my “best self.”

What are your favorite travel destination(s)? Napa, Hawaii, and New York City.

What is a place you haven’t traveled, but would love to visit? London.

If you could have an hour lunch with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why? My Dad, his Mom, and HER Mom (my Nonnie)!  My great grandmother was an amazing lady from head to toe, an exceptional wife, loving mother, had incredible style, and gave back to her community in every way possible.

What is one thing we should know about you? Despite being a hard worker, I am so much fun! I resonate with the song “Now, the party don’t start til I walk in …”

You can find Janay’s full bio on our website https://impact100greatersacramento.org/about/#board). Janay shares Impact100’s Signature Events Committee Chair with Jen Peters, and also sits on the Nominating Committee. Janay loves having fun and making people happy. Her passion for throwing amazing parties makes her the perfect choice for Special Events Co-chair.

After growing up a farm girl in Los Banos, Janay moved to Sacramento to run a paging business and later branched out to retail. Her hustling nature later helped her build a successful partnership with her husband Kurt in the restaurant and hospitality business. Now she’s turned her passion to real estate, helping Sacramento area families find their dream homes.  Janay and Kurt have two daughters – Abbigail attends Iona University in New York and Hannah attends local Christian Brothers High School. She is also a mom to two fur babies, Jack and Bella.
