Dr. Janice Thompson is a charter member at Impact 100, and we’re grateful for the many ways she shows up. From hosting I Make an Impact parties to mentoring Next Gen members and serving on the Health & Wellness focus group, Janice’s impact to giving back is felt throughout our community.
Janice is an Executive Leadership Coach and founded of her firm in 2009. She works with seasoned executives, helping them step into top-level leadership with “all-in” confidence. Her clients span industries including construction, entertainment, engineering, and education. Janice holds a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership.
Giving back is central to who Janice is. She serves as a Trustee of the Sacramento Zoo, is a judge and field faculty member for the Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program (NELP) and actively supports women-focused philanthropic efforts.
Janice and her husband, Al, recently celebrated 45 years of marriage and call River Park home. She’s a proud mom to Meredith and Elliot—and devoted grand pup parent to Remi.

- What is the aspect about Impact100 you are most passionate about?
I love that Impact100 offers a different model for philanthropy: The collective power of women coming together to make transformational, intentional gifts that make a long-lasting IMPACT in our communities. - What is one thing we should know about you?
I’m deeply motivated to help women (and men) realize their full potential, discover their purpose, and live their best lives. - If you could have lunch with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
I was inspired by First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, after a trip to DC with Leadership California where I learned more about her life and legacy. She is remembered for her moral clarity, courage, and ability to lead with both empathy and strength during times of profound change. - What is your favorite restaurant?
I love to frequent any “neighborhood gem” that serves great food, great wine, with a conversation-friendly vibe. A few of my Sacramento favorites: The Waterboy, Frank Fats and Mattone. - What are your hobbies?
Making social connections with friends (new and old). I enjoy both my book clubs: Reading Between the Wines, and the one for members at The Jacquelyn. I love traveling for business and pleasure and learning new things. I like listening to a great podcast and walking my grand pup Remi. - What are your favorite travel destinations?
I grew up in New England and that is one of my favorite places to visit. We travel to Cape Cod for a family gathering every year. We’ve enjoyed incredible trips to Italy, France, and the UK – anywhere with great food combined with a lot of history. - What is a place you haven’t traveled but would love to visit?
We’d love to experience a country with a culture that respects tradition while constantly evolving and innovating.
