This May we are highlighting Julie Metius. Within five minutes of talking with Julie it’s easy to understand how Julie has been so effective in growing our Impact100 Greater Sacramento Chapter. Her humor, warmth and ability to connect come across instantly.

Julie is a freelance event photographer and real estate portfolio manager. She is from Elk Grove and attended Sacramento City College, San Diego State University and Sacramento State University. She has been married for 40 years and has three daughters and 2 grandsons both born in 2022! Julie has been involved in the Sacramento community through St. Ignatius School and Church, Loretto High School, Jesuit High School, St. John’s Program, Moral Values Program https://mvpsacramento.org/, Sacrameto Food Bank https://www.sacramentofoodbank.org/ and Wind Youth Services https://www.windyouth.org/

Why did you join Impact100? I was excited about this concept to organize 100 women and watch the magic happen in our community! WOW! There are already 217 of us! 

What is your favorite aspect about Impact100?  Expect the unexpected! I met a woman who has lived 4 houses around the corner from me for 20 years! At every event I’ve discovered someone special I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting before. 

What is your favorite local restaurant? Aioli Bodega. 

What are your hobbies? Golf, electric bike riding, gardening, field trips!

What are your favorite travel destinations? Maui and San Diego 

What is a place you haven’t traveled but would love to? Greece.

If you could have an hour lunch with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?  Pope John Paul ll for insight to share from his viewpoint now. World peace was his prayer. 

What is one thing we should know about you? I was the 1981 Sacramento Camellia Festival Queen!
